An environmental design project for a special institution.
Broadway Corridor Entrance
The National Museum of African American Music through Donna Gilliam Interiors commissioned Rhealistic Design to produce environmental graphic design work for the Broadway corridor entrance to the museum. The 85 foot long hallway features beautiful contemporary inset ceiling to wall to floor lighting that divides the space into sections. We were tasked with producing a concept and design that would be functionally complementary to the interior exhibition.
The final design is a floor to ceiling typographic deployment that bathes museum visitors in a narrative historical timeline of Black American music. It uses color and typography to give visitors a non-image based preliminary view of the richness of its collection and multi-dimensional displays.
